Software Architecture

Before building or buying a system, the expensive decisions are the early ones. Adamant Tech reviews and designs systems so they are secure, affordable to run and possible to change, including cloud design on AWS, and leads delivery to a written scope. One principal is accountable from scope to hand-over.

Review and architecture

• Review of the proposed approach and vendor claims, with a two-to-four-page recommendation covering cost drivers and risks
• Current-state review and target architecture, with decision records
• Security and data-protection design
• A cost model for cloud services
• A prioritised migration or build plan

Reviews are fixed per review or engagement, or part of a Fractional CTO retainer.

Build and delivery oversight

Where a system must be built, small tools, automations and bounded systems are designed, built, tested and handed over with documentation, to a written scope.

• Written scope and fixed price, in agreed phases after a paid discovery for larger systems
• Design, build, testing and deployment
• Security review of the code and deployment
• Fixes for defects in what was built, for an agreed period after hand-over

Technical project leadership

Leadership of a defined security or platform change as a fixed-scope, phased engagement, with a review at the end of each phase and a hand-over to the client’s team with documentation and a walkthrough.

How it runs

Discovery, a written scope and price, delivery in short phases with a review at the end of each, then hand-over.

Not included

Hosting and running costs beyond the first month, changes outside the written scope, ongoing support and operations unless contracted, programme management of multi-vendor projects, large multi-team programmes, and long-term product ownership.
