Privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026.
This site is operated by Adamant Tech (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/778639/07, Randburg, Johannesburg, the responsible party for the information described here. The Information Officer is the director, Jaco van der Walt, reachable at contact@adamant.co.za. This policy is written against South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
What this website collects
Nothing that a visitor does not send, apart from the analytics described below. There is no contact form, newsletter sign-up, account, comments or advertising on this site. The site is a set of static files with no database behind it. Without your consent this site sets no cookies and sends nothing to any third-party analytics service. The one optional exception is Google Analytics, below, which runs only if you allow it in the banner.
Traffic statistics
The site uses two tools to understand how it is used. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits per page. It is cookieless and does not fingerprint visitors or profile them across sites. It records aggregate information: page, approximate country, referrer, browser and device type. An individual visitor cannot be identified from it. It runs without a banner. Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) gives more detail on which pages help, how visitors find them and who they are in aggregate. It runs only if you choose to allow it in the banner on your first visit. Until then nothing is requested from or sent to Google. The banner offers three choices:
- Decline: nothing is loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
- Analytics only: Google sets cookies (
_gaand_ga_…, up to two years) and receives your page views, approximate location, device and browser type, and referrer, tied to a random identifier. Google signals and ad personalisation stay off. - Accept all: as above, and in addition Google may link your visit to your Google account if you are signed in and have allowed ads personalisation there, combine it with data Google already holds (such as location, search and YouTube activity and visits to other sites that use Google services), and use it for audiences and advertising personalisation. Google may also collect more precise location and device information. Adamant Tech does not show adverts on this site and does not upload customer lists or e-mail addresses to Google. This site has none to send.
Google processes the data on servers outside South Africa, including in the United States, under its own terms. This is a transfer of personal information across borders, and it happens only because you consented. Adamant Tech sees aggregate reports. Google Analytics keeps the data for up to 14 months after your last visit, so that a year can be compared with the one before, and then deletes it. You can see and delete what Google holds about you at myactivity.google.com and manage ads personalisation in your Google account settings.
You can change your mind at any time: Cookie settings reopens the choice, and switching to Decline or Analytics only removes the cookies that are no longer allowed. The choice is remembered on your device in browser storage, not in a cookie, and clearing your browser data resets it.
Search
Adamant Tech uses Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google search. It reports on search queries and page performance in aggregate and does not collect anything from visitors to this site.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests outside South Africa. Cloudflare may retain security and abuse logs, including IP addresses, for its own operational purposes as operator of that infrastructure.
When you contact Adamant Tech
A call to +27 68 748 0665, a message to the same number on WhatsApp Business, or an e-mail to contact@adamant.co.za means Adamant Tech holds the name, address or number used and whatever the message contains. Messages sent through WhatsApp Business are also processed by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms.
- Why: to answer the enquiry and, if work goes ahead, to quote and deliver it. This is processing necessary to conclude or perform a contract, and a legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
- How long: enquiries that do not become work are deleted within 12 months. Correspondence about actual work is kept for five years after the engagement ends, because tax and company records require it.
- Who else sees it: only the service providers needed to run the business, such as e-mail hosting. They act as operators under POPIA and process the information only to provide that service.
Clients
IT work means holding more: device and network inventories, user account lists, configuration details and, for managed IT, administrative access.
- This information is held only to do the work engaged for.
- It is not sold, shared or used to market to anyone.
- Access credentials are kept in an encrypted password manager, not in e-mail or spreadsheets.
- On request, or when an engagement ends, what belongs to the client is handed over and Adamant Tech’s copies of the credentials are destroyed.
Where Adamant Tech acts on a client’s instructions in relation to the client’s own customers’ personal information, it is an operator under POPIA and the client remains the responsible party. A written arrangement to that effect forms part of any managed IT engagement.
What is not done with information
Personal information is not sold. Apart from the Google Analytics choice you make in the cookie banner, it is not shared for advertising. It is passed only to the operators needed to run the business, such as e-mail hosting, website hosting and accounting, and only as far as that service requires.
Your rights under POPIA
At any time you may:
- Ask what is held about you and receive a copy.
- Ask for correction or deletion, subject to records that must be kept by law.
- Object to processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis.
- Complain, to Adamant Tech first if you are willing, and to the Information Regulator in any case.
E-mail contact@adamant.co.za, call +27 68 748 0665 or message the same number on WhatsApp Business and say what you want. A response follows within 30 days.
Security
Passwords and client credentials are held in an encrypted password manager with multi-factor authentication. Devices are encrypted. The website holds no personal information, which is the strongest control available.
Adamant Tech holds no professional indemnity insurance at present. If a breach affects personal information, POPIA requires notification of the affected person and the Information Regulator, and that will be done.
