Terms

These terms apply to work done by Adamant Tech (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/778639/07, Randburg, Johannesburg. A written quote and these terms together form the agreement. Where a quote says something different, the quote prevails.

Quotes and prices

• Hourly work is billed at the hourly rate published on the Contact page. On-site visits in Gauteng carry the call-out published there. Remote sessions carry no call-out.
• The Simple Website Template is an annual subscription at the price on the Websites page, described below.
• All other work is quoted in writing and agreed before it starts.
• A quoted price is fixed for the scope quoted. Work outside that scope is quoted separately, before it happens.
• Hardware is supplied at cost plus a stated margin.
• Invoices are payable within 14 days unless the quote says otherwise. Billing queries go to invoice@adamant.co.za.

Websites

The Simple Website Template is a subscription and not a build.

What it is

The annual price on the Websites page covers one year of hosting and DNS, the domain, the SSL certificate, the build from the client’s content and one content update per year, with further updates charged at the hourly rate. There is no once-off build fee. There is a renewal. Larger or custom sites are quoted.

What the client owns

Their content and copy, as plain files: words, photographs, prices and pages. These are handed over in a form another developer can use on request at any time, during or after the engagement, at no fee.

What Adamant Tech owns

The generator and templates that build the site. They are used across every site and no licence to them is granted to the client. The client is buying a site the generator produces, and their content out of it whenever they want.

Hosting and domain

Hosting is held by Adamant Tech as part of the subscription. Domains are registered through domains.co.za. A client who already owns a domain keeps it, and it is pointed at the site.

If the subscription lapses

The site comes down at the end of the paid period. The client keeps their content files and Adamant Tech hands them over.

Not included

Content writing, pages beyond the agreed set, photography, design work, logo design and anything needing a database or server-side processing.

Managed IT

• Billed monthly in advance, per user, at the rate in the quote.
• Either party may end it on 30 days’ written notice, with no penalty and no minimum term beyond the notice period.
• On termination Adamant Tech hands over an inventory of systems, transfers administrative access to the client or the incoming provider, and destroys its copies of credentials.
• No uptime or response-time guarantee is given. Adamant Tech is a small practice and says so plainly.
• Hardware carries its manufacturer’s warranty and nothing more.
• The client remains responsible for its own data and for the licences on software it asks to have installed.

Advisory, fractional CTO and training

• Fixed scope and price, or monthly hours agreed in writing, before work begins.
• Deliverables are advisory. Decisions remain the client’s, and so does responsibility for them.
• Findings and reports may be used internally by the client without restriction. Methods, templates and tooling remain Adamant Tech’s.
• Each party treats the other’s confidential information as confidential.

Software development

• Work is carried out to a written scope and price. Changes outside the scope are agreed in writing before they are built.
• Ownership of the delivered work and any open-source or third-party components is set out in the written scope.
• Fixes for defects in what was built are covered for the period stated in the scope.
• Hosting and running costs beyond the period stated in the scope are the client’s.

Liability

To the extent the law permits, Adamant Tech’s total liability for an engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement in the preceding twelve months. It is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost data, beyond that.

Adamant Tech does not currently hold professional indemnity insurance. This is stated so that it can be weighed before signing. It is also why nothing on this site promises availability, recovery times or outcomes.

Intellectual property elsewhere

Work shown on this site, including any case studies, is either Adamant Tech’s own project or shown with the client’s agreement. Client work is not named or shown without it.

Law

South African law applies, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction.
